Etsy Love | Frostbeard Studio

While trolling Etsy, as one usually does, I had the idea that I wanted to highlight some interesting Etsy shops I've come across in my random perusing of the site. Sometimes I stumble across an item, fall in love, check out the seller's store, and just become overwhelmed by the awesomeness. In such instances, I'd like to share my finds with you all so you can reap the benefits of my many hours spent window shopping.

In this case, I came across Frostbeard while searching for handmade candles on Etsy. What set Frostbeard Studio apart in my mind was the fact that almost all of their candles are inspired by works of literature. Roxie and Tom, the Minnesotan couple behind Frostbeard, mix traditional craft, art and design with inspiration from books, video games and movies to create their brand of "nerd art".

"We create nerdy things that need to exist. Our goal is to make awesome, handcrafted art goods that are beautiful and functional."

I would definitely have to agree. I feel like I've found some kindred spirits over at Frostbeard, as I too advertise myself as a great lover of cats, books and lumberjacks (as my friends can attest).

Now, on to their products. Frostbeard create handmade scented soy wax candles and wax melts that evoke specific places or items from books or TV shows. Their 8oz. candles, which were what interested me most, come in glass jars and retail for $15. Here are some of the ones that caught my eye:

Cedarwood vanilla, fireplace and lemon.

Oakmoss, clover, aloe, with a hint of sweet cherry pipe tobacco.

Sweet pipe tobacco, cherry wood and fresh rain.

Scotch pine and firewood.

Fresh roses with a hint of lilac and hyacinth.

Oakmoss, amber, sandalwood, with hints of tobacco and leather.

...and the one that is definitely calling my name:

Lavender, Thyme, Basil & Herb.

Not only am I obsessed with Outlander, but I'm also a huge fan of fresh, herby scented candles. I think I'm about to have a 'Treat Yo Self' moment with this Scottish lassie. If you're interested in trying a few of their candles, they do make tea light sample packs that come with 6 different miniatures for $12. I think any one of these candles would make a great gift!

Whether you're a book nerd like myself or you just want your home to smell like a fictional location, I think Frostbeard Studio is definitely an Etsy shop worth checking out.
