5 Beauty Products I've Been Loving

Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant
This exfoliant is a grey powder that you pour into wet palms and massage into your skin. I love the idea of a dry treatment that you can customize to get the texture that works best for you. I picked up the travel-size bottle because I wasn't sure if it would do much for my skin but I've been really impressed. It isn't too course or scratchy and it really leaves my skin feeling cleaner and incredibly soft - like it was just polished. I only really use this product in the evening as it's supposed to detoxify and remove pollutants from the skin. Living in New York, I'm very aware of the effect that pollution has on my skin. I especially love using this on days I've been on the subway and walking around the city.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mask
I actually picked this up while in Portugal in June on a whim. I was in a pharmacy and since I've been recommended some great things in European pharmacies, I decided to ask the pharmacist for advice on products that would work well for my oily, acne-prone skin. I wasn't really in the market for a mask but this was one of the products she recommended and I figured why not give it a try. The mask has an herbal scent and goes on smooth. It has a thick, creamy texture that spreads evenly and dries down like a typical clay mask. I'm really impressed with how clean and smooth my pores look after washing the mask off. I've always struggled with enlarged pores and blackheads so anything that makes them look smaller and less glaring is a must-have.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat
This was another product that I picked up as a suggestion from the pharmacist in Portugal. I was a bit skeptical because I've tried several mattifying moisturizers in the past, including one from Bioderma, and was never really all that impressed. This moisturizer feels light and gel-like and absorbs to a matte finish. I actually feel like my enlarged pores aren't as noticeable when I wear it which is a huge deal for me because it's one of the things that makes me most self-conscious about my skin. It was a good deal cheaper in Portugal than it is in the U.S. but I would highly recommend it if you have oily skin.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
I got this lip balm solely because Karima McKimmie recommended it in her Korean beauty video. It's definitely lived up to the hype. It tastes almost like pink Starburst candies, which is honestly a reason to buy it all on its own. The balm doesn't feel as thick or dry as some others that I've tried but it really coats your lips and doesn't just soak in in seconds. I'll put this on before bed and wake up with my lips still feeling plump and hydrated. Plus, there's so much product in the pot it'll last me ages. If you suffer from dry or chapped lips this is a weapon you need on your side.

ProFoot Heel Rescue Foot Cream
I was actually sent this product to test by Influenster but didn't expect to love it that much. It just sounded like a generic foot cream and I don't usually really take very good care of my feet to begin with. Since sandal season was firmly upon us and my heels had been a bit drier than usual I decided to give it a go and it worked wonderfully. It's thick and creamy but absorbed well without feeling like it wasn't doing anything. My heels visibly looked and felt less dry when I used it. Plus, who doesn't love a product with a pump!
