December Ipsy Glam Bag Reveal & Review

I've actually owned a full-size tube of this in the past but I'm no longer a huge fan. It gives you pretty good length and volume but because the formula isn't waterproof I had some issues with smudging around my eyes at the end of the day. If you have eyelids that get a bit oily during the day then this might not be the best for you either but if you're looking for a good washable mascara that'll make your lashes look fuller it's definitely worth giving a try.

Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream (Deluxe Sample - 0.5 fl oz,)
When I first saw that I would be receiving this product I was really excited. I'm always on a hunt for the perfect eye cream and haven't found one yet that I'll forever repurchase. This organic eye cream contains avocado oil, argan oil and shea butter, which are all known for their fantastic moisturizing abilities, but as you can imagine they're all a bit on the oilier side. The eye cream does leave a bit of a shiny, oily finish which is why I've mostly been using it before bed rather than in the mornings. I think it does a good job of keeping my sensitive under-eye area hydrated and since only a tiny bit is needed, the generous amount of product in the tube will most likely last me for a couple of months of use. Would I repurchase this on my own? Probably not. Personally, I'm kind of in love with my Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Eye Treatment at the moment, but if you are a looking for an organic, natural eye cream this is a perfect option!

Bumble & bumble Repair Blow Dry (Deluxe Sample - 0.5 fl oz.)
In the past few months I've actually bought and received several different products that are fairly similar to this and serve the purpose of heat-protecting, repairing and finishing my hair. I have a hair oil, a priming spray and a cream but this is my first serum-in -creme. As you would expect from the term, the texture is a more liquidy cream that leaves your hair both shiny and soft. This product is part of a new range from Bb. featuring a trio of blow dry creams that are tailored to your hair's needs. I've only really just begun to use it but am not sure if it'll take the place of my Bumble & bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer for prepping and protecting my heat styling.

Cailyn Cosmetics Just Mineral Eye Polish in Orchid (Full Size - .09 oz)
Ipsy chose a beautiful shade to send us, even if it is a bit oddly named. When I hear "orchid" I think magenta not golden champagne, but the color is gorgeous and versatile. The shadow is smooth, wonderfully pigmented and has a beautiful, almost metallic shimmer. Cailyn's Just Mineral Eye Polish also has an incredible shade range.

My only gripe with the product is the somewhat gimmicky packaging. The sponge-tip applicator doesn't blend the product well and you end up dabbing the shadow onto your lids and then constantly having to re-insert the wand into the product and shake the bottle to re-distribute the shadow onto the sponge. It makes for a tedious application process and since you can't really pour the product into a lid, using a separate eye shadow brush instead isn't easy either. I understand that the idea was to give you a shadow and applicator all in one for ease of use, but there is no way you can achieve a properly blended eye look with just this sponge tip—a crease blending brush will be needed. That said, the product does have a lovely finish, great color pay-off and it wears very well throughout the day.

NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm in Parfait

NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm in Parfait (Full Size - 0.14 oz)
I'm an enormous fan of NYX as a brand and have wanted to try their Butter Lip Balms for quite a while but just hadn't picked one up. I was so excited when I heard I would be receiving one in my bag this past month but unfortunately this was more of a color fail than anything else. I received Parfait which is a sheer fuschia with blue undertones. Sadly, this product helped me notice why I always seem to gravitate towards warm-toned lip and cheek colors. Cool-toned pinks definitely do not suit my complexion. I felt a bit like a clown wearing this color but I really enjoyed the smooth, light-weight texture of the lip balm and though the product is somewhat sheer, I was pleasantly surprised by its build-ability. I would definitely retry this in a different shade because this tinted lip balm formula is lovely.

If you would like to sign up for your own Ipsy Glam bag, you can register for just $10 a month and receive a monthly, individualized bag filled with beauty samples and full-sized products. You can use my referral code.

Are there any products you feel would be greatly improved by being repackaged? Do you find that you gravitate towards more cool-toned or warm colors?
