Now that we're officially into December the scrambling begins to put together gifts for friends and family that are both thoughtful and desirable while not massacring your wallet. As much as everyone loves presents, sometimes it's the fun, little stocking stuffers that really make a gift memorable. I've compiled a list of some things I think would make a great treat for a beauty lover, all under $10.
Hands and Lips
Winter weather brings winter skin concerns and nothing ends up drier and in more need of some TLC than your hands and lips. They're constantly exposed to the cold and wind, and need a bit of extra moisturization to keep them happy. Many women have a mini hand cream and lip balm that they always keep handy in their purse for when the need arises. Why not stuff your loved one's stocking with some creamy treats for their hands and lips. Here are a few options that won't break the bank.
Nivea Lip Care Gift Set - $4.99
Soap & Glory Hand Food - $6.00 (Amazing Hand Cream!)
Burt's Bees Hand Salve - $6.69
Smith's Rosebud Salve - $6.00 (Fantastic lip balm! The tin version lasts longer on the lips than the tube version.)
EOS Everyday Hand Lotion - $1.99
Beauty Accessories
Giving someone makeup can be a bit dodgy since everyone has different skin types and color preferences, and you might not know exactly what they already own. Nothing flops as big as giving someone something they already have. So, to avoid issues like that, I think beauty accessories make a great gift because they're the little add-ons that are both cute and fun and that people naturally swap in and out of their collection from time to time. You can always use a new makeup bag or a new compact, even if you already have one.
Goody Ouchless Black Ribbon Elastics - $3.99 (The Best! Don't pull your hair or leave a crease.)
Forever 21 Bunny Print Compact - $3.90
Tangle Teezer - $8.99 (A must for detangling wet or dry hair!)
Travalo Refillable Perfume Spray - $9.99 (Perfect for travel!)
Although I said that giving someone makeup that they didn't expressly ask for can be a bit tricky (if they're a beauty junkie and are particular), there are some makeup gems that a woman always needs in her collection. These gifts are probably better suited to someone who is just getting into makeup and needs to build a stash of tried-and-true basics. Here are some of the ones that I'd highly recommend:
(The most versatile eye shadow. Long-wearing and low maintenance. A 'Must Have'.)
(Incredibly long-wearing formula, super shiny and easy to remove.)
(Very black and the tip doesn't dry out.)
(Perfect everyday eye look. Great pigmentation!)
(My favorite pressed powder. Keeps makeup and place and reduces shine.)
(Best nude/pink gloss for a natural lip!)
Indulge & Pamper
Every lady needs a bit of me time once in a while and nothing makes a better gift than some ingredients for the perfect pamper session. If you know the person loves to relax in the bath (or shower) there are endless options to choose from. And a facial mask or body scrub will help them feel refreshed and revived. Here are some great, affordable options for gifting indulgence on the cheap.
Caudalie Divine Oil Ornament - $9.00 (Luxurious body oil will make her feel like a queen.)
Bliss Lemony Trinkets - $10.00 (Hell, I want this myself! Lemon + Sage sounds heavenly.)
Burt's Bees Essential Kit - $7.87 (Just a fantastic bargain!)
L'Occitane Almond Indulgence Duo - $10.00
Dr. Teal's Foaming Milk Bath - $4.87 (Inexpensive but will really last and leave skin soft.)
Lush Hot Toddy Shower Gel - $9.95 (Perfect for the holidays!)
Aquarian Soul + Earth Oils Bath Tea - $4.00 (Basically a big tea bag for your bath.)
Lush The Christmas Hedgehog Bubble Bar - $7.25 (Drop in your tub for the ultimate bubble bath.)
Lush Butterbear Bath Bomb - $4.95
Tree Hut Brazil Nut Shea Sugar Scrub - $7.49 (My favorite body scrub. Smells like caramel and coffee.)
Some Notes to Keep In Mind:
When shopping for a beauty addict, it's good to stick to things of which one could always use an extra, like hand cream, lip balm o body wash. It's also a good idea to stick to miniature sizes as your gift recipient can then use the item for travel or to keep in their purse or at work if they already have a similar item at home. Gifting miniature sizes also means they get to try something new and not risk having a whole bottle sitting on a shelf going to waste if they aren't a fan.
Luckily, there are some great, inexpensive gift sets available this time of year that pretty much do all the work for you. There's no need to break the bank with the abundance of sweet, little beauty goods readily available under $10. Stocking stuffers should be fun and less serious than a full gift, so try to get them something they wouldn't necessarily think to pick up for themselves.
Do you usually give your loved ones stocking stuffers? What is your favorite stocking stuffer that you ever received? Do you set a price limit on items like this?
Love these ideas! Might have to snag a tangle teezer for my unruly mane.
ReplyDeletehaha I just bought a tangle teaser lol!
DeleteI love my Tangle Teezer. It's the only thing I use to brush my hair, really. It kind of feels like you're giving yourself a scalp massage while detangling your hair.
