The 5 New Fall Shows I'm Most Excited About

Now that all of the Fall premieres are gearing up, I thought I'd let you in on some of the new shows I'm most excited to see. I watched all of the new Fall TV trailers and read all of the synopses for my TV podcast, Antenna Heads and I've handpicked the 5 shows I'm most looking forward to.

"A defense attorney and four ambitious law students find themselves involved in a twisted murder plot that promises to change their lives forever."

This pretty much just seems like Scandal but in a college/courtroom setting. I can totally get behind that! The cast looks amazing and I know this is really going to bring the suspense and drama. I'm sure it'll be incredibly addictive and I can't wait to get sucked in.

"A pair of detectives investigate stalkers in Los Angeles."

Thank you, IMDb for that succinct synopsis. I really find the idea for this show interesting. Not in terms of the procedural elements but in terms of what is going on in the stalking incidents and the behavior and emotions of both parties. It's got the potential for so much thrilling suspense. I'm really excited to see where they take this.

Jane The Virgin (CW)
"Set in Miami, the series will detail the surprising and unforeseen events that take place in the life of Jane Villanueva, a hard-working, religious young Latina woman whose family tradition and a vow to save her virginity until her marriage to a detective is shattered when a doctor mistakenly artificially inseminates her during a checkup. And to make matters worse, the biological donor is a married man, a former playboy and cancer survivor who is not only the new owner of the hotel where Jane works, but was also her former teenage crush."

This show sounds pretty ridiculous, but I want to see it for that very reason. It seems unlike anything else we have on TV right now and I like that it's taking influence from a telenovela and Latin culture. I'm interested to see what they do with it and if they can keep it funny rather than just resorting to over-the-top dramatics like most soap operas.
"A man struggling with his faith is haunted by the sins of his past but is suddenly thrust into the role of defending humanity from the gathering forces of darkness."

I love supernatural shows and this one seems like it's going to be epic. I never read the comic book that the show is based on but I did love the movie. The budget looks huge and the special effects are amazing. Let's just see if the acting holds up its end of the bargain.

"When a young boy is found dead on an idyllic beach, a major police investigation gets underway in the small California seaside town where the tragedy occurred. Soon deemed a homicide, the case sparks a media frenzy, which throws the boy's family into further turmoil and upends the lives of all of the town's residents."

I've actually been waiting for Gracepoint to air since it was first announced. I was an enormous fan of Broadchurch (the original British show this is based on) and I'm interested to see if the American remake will be as good. From the trailer it seems pretty much like a shot-by-shot remake. I couldn't be happier that they brought David Tennant in to play the lead on Gracepoint, as he was also the lead in Broadchurch. I think he is going to make it just that much better. And if you didn't know, I'll pretty watch anything David Tennant is in, so this is definitely going on my must-watch list.

What new shows are you looking forward to? Have you caught any of the premieres? Any recommendations?
