Weekend Vibes: Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that people either absolutely despise or can't get enough of. I'm one of those rare people who's pretty much just meh on the whole thing. I'm single, so it's not like I'm expected to get anyone a gift or do anything romantic, but I thought I'd fill you all in on how I'm spending today - in the most satisfying way I possibly can.

For me today is really just any other Sunday, and on Sundays I typically like to sleep in late, laze about the house a bit and possibly have some brunchy food in my PJs. I started off today right by rolling out of bed around 11:30am and being informed by my lovely brother that he was making waffles. Check!

Weekends are also typically when I like to take blog photos because I'm always at work during the hours when the natural light is best on weekdays. I like to pool my future post ideas together and take a bunch of photos for the upcoming weeks. This can typically take around 1.5 to 2 hours, between my carting products around, figuring out the layouts I like and getting varied shots. Today was no different and I spent almost two hours trying to get some photos in the bank for upcoming posts.

My wardrobe on a Sunday is usually a mix of lounge-wear and just straight up pajamas, but today's look was comprised of this bad-ass Rad 'Touch My Butt & Buy Me Pizza' sweatshirt and my favorite Old Navy compression leggings. Had to get in that Valentine's feel with a sweatshirt that sums up some serious #RelationshipGoals for me.

In terms of beauty, I tend to forgo makeup on weekends if I know I won't be leaving the house. Today, as it was Valentine's Day, I decided to just pop on some light makeup to make me feel a bit more put together. Since the holiday is all about pink I decided to add in some #glossierpink for good measure! If you don't know about Glossier, they're an amazing brand whose philosophy I really admire and they've got lots of interesting beauty products inspired by real women like us. My makeup was comprised of a very light base, with defined brows courtesy of my Glossier Boy Brow, some bronzed, sculpted cheeks using my brand spankin' new Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow and a subtle nude gloss on my lips with my Revlon Lip Gloss in Super Natural. I also dabbed on a bit of my Onomie A.C.E. Illuminating Eye Treatment to add some life and light to my complexion and leave me looking a bit more awake.

My plans for the night consist of a pamper session and a hot bath with one of my Lush bubble bars. I usually try to fit in a pamper session on the weekends because it's just a great way to unwind and mentally prepare myself for Monday. I also love reading romance novels while soaking in the tub so there'll definitely be some of that going on as well. I plan to give myself a manicure and watch a couple of episodes of a new show. I also see some brownies and a delicious cup of coffee in my future. I know most people would probably be looking to crack open a bottle of wine tonight and although I've got one standing at the ready, I've never really been into drinking alone, no matter how stressed I am. For whatever reason unwinding for me is much more closely associated with a nice, rich cup of coffee and some chocolate.

I don't know about you but to me it seems like I'm really winning this Valentine's Day. It's cold as hell outside but I'm curled up all toasty on my couch with good food, good books and the chillest weekend vibes a girl can get. Hope your Valentine's Day and your Valentine if you have one are treating you just as well!
